"Are supposed to help you keep your money, not take it away."
Which is the exact reason why my parents are on my ass right now. I recently signed up with HSBC because there's one near my house and one near Hunter and Brookdale campus. MAD convenient for me since I currently have to take a bus to my other bank. BUT, here's why they're all upset: HSBC charges a $3 maintenence fee to keep your checking account open every month.
My dad flipped like crazy. This is why he hates banks lol. He wanted me to close the account, the day that I signed up for it. I didn't want to though cause I was just there and it would've been embarassing. Little did I know that this would come to bite me in the ass like 2 days later.
So today I went to go switch my checking account to a savings account. Here's the deal, if I close my checking account in less than 6 months, I get charged a $25 fee. Even if I close the checking and open a savings, I still get charged the fee. The lady said, if I came back the same day that I opened it, I would've been good. WOW. Shit, I'm not telling my dad that lmao he'd be pissed as hell.
The only way for everyone to be happy, especially my parents is if I upgrade my checking account. The only way to upgrade and not get charged is if I have direct deposit from my job. WHICH I NEED REALLY BADLY CAUSE OF THIS.
So far, I have applied to Red Lobster and Applebees (both in Queens Center/Queens Blvd.)
I finished my resume a few mins ago, and I'm waiting on someone to check it and to see if it's okay and etc. Other than the restaurants, I have applications from Sephora and Barnes & Nobles. (I'm especially hoping on getting the restaurants right away because of how I know how to do CPR and work the AED.)
I need more options, my plan is to send a shitload of applications out at the same time and see whatever I get back first. If anyone can help me with finding a job that can do Direct Deposit, pleaseeee let me know. I really need this right now.
FML.
