Puppy Blog: Day 1

So we brought Cammy home last afternoon. She was amazingly cute, but very shy and scared. There were a lot of people at Jon's: Nate, Rob, Jeeves, and Rhistina. And I guess the fact that we were loud and that we were playing video games extended her stress from being apart from her family.

She got used to the dog bed and lion stuffed animal that me and Jon bought for her after we took her out of the crate. We didn't want to touch her when she was in a scared state of mind, because that would be telling her that it's good for her to stay in that state of mind. (Dog Whisperer FTW)
So we just tried to ignore her until she came out on her own. So after a couple of hours when she didn't come out, we just took her out ourselves. She didn't pee or poo since the night before and she didn't pee or poo the night after. When I woke up this morning, it was the first time she ate food and drank a good amount of water. I was so relieved. Right before she drank water, her nose was dry and I was worried that she was dehydrated. Up until the time that I left Jon's house to go home (for family reasons), she still has not went to the bathroom. Hopefully, she'll go sometime today. I'm planning on going back to Jon's after I deal with family stuff.

What I'm EXTREMELY happy about is that she took a liking to me. And prefers to sit or sleep by me. Also! My allergies did not act up the whole time I was there until 6AM today. So that's awesome, hopefully it'll continue to be that way. I had doubts about whether or not she would like me and stuff like that mostly because it would be like paying for a dog that didn't like me. So far, so good.

There was one major thing that I was uncomfortable about though, and I hope it goes away soon for Cammy's sake: I was uncomfortable with him touching Cammy mostly because of some of the stuff that he said earlier this week when we were looking for the right food for her. It kinda pissed me off mostly because he would lecture me and Jon about how to take care of Cammy and missing his own dog when I remember clearly that walking his dog would be a hassle for him. AND he said that his dog was retarded, when Shiba Inus are one of the most intelligent dog breeds. It's all complicated and shit, I've been feeling like he's become more arrogant over some time and the way he's talked to me recently. Hopefully, I'll get over this feeling soon because if I don't Cammy will sense it and become uncomfortable with him.

Anyway, I'll be updating on Cammy's progress in transitioning over to her life here in New York. She's from Florida and lived on a farm. LOL, how cute. And her birthday is April 1st.

When I woke up this morning and fed her and put her on the wee wee pad, she seemed to be a little more active than yesterday. I think it was because it was nice and quiet, the tv volume was on low and she just ate.

Pictures of her 1st day will be up soon.
She was way more beautiful than what Jon and I ever imagined<3
